Update

Doc not worried about my fever. He says a fever can sometimes linger for a couple of days to a week after taking the antibiotic.

David is doing good

He breathed on trache collar for only three hours. He has gone longer other days and shorter on some.

He has had physical and occupational therapy two days in a row. It has not been as consistent as I would like and I am not there to work with him either. But I am very pleased that the week is off to a good start.

Apparently he can move his right arm to his stomach. After not seeing much improvement in his physical abilities, that is great news!!!!
Ask me if I’m worried that he only breathed on his own for three hours. Nope. Moving his arm to his belly is huge and I have no complaints.

Everyone is fever-free except me, but it is finally just under 100 and maintaining.

Is it hard being away from him?  Do I want this to be over?  Can this just be a bad dream and wake up to normal?

I have yet to fall in to this new life, but we press on. I really don’t want to ‘fall in’ I just want to do what needs to be done and hurry to happy times again.

I don’t know about you but for me, when I hurry it is twice as long to get there. So I will say out loud that I’m going to be patient and endure but secretly I am still going to hurry. I just need to get a glimpse of the ending; the light at the end of the tunnel. And I’m not going to slow down until I see it.

Yes, I am obstinant.
And I make no apologies.
Times like these call for
An extra portion of grit.
