2/4/2018

To put your mind at ease, no David did not have a stroke.  He was just seriously low on oxygen when I took him to the emergency room. They tried to give him oxygen but it was not accomplishing enough which is why they did a medically induced coma. They brought him out of a coma only because more problems arise when you are on the vent for too long.

Now he has a tracheostomy that gives him help with oxygen. The same is true with a trache. He should not be on that for more than 2 or 3 weeks because of the same issues. (Causing other problems)

They are aggressively weaning him from oxygen. They turned the trache vent off for 2 hours yesterday and he was breathing on his own.  It took all his strength to breath. But those muscles that you need to breath are also very week. And he gave it his all.

We are going forward. But in baby steps. It’s just going to take a while.

Thank you for your prayers and concerns.
