Sunday’s
Sundays.
We have found a groove on Sunday’s. We go, comfortable pajama-like attire, to see David;
Movie day.
To see his face light up when we come in... priceless.
And a peaceful day it was. It was hard to leave. And then when Monday came...it was sad. We want everyday to be Sunday. It’s quiet, there are little disturbances and we pretty much have him, uninterrupted all day long.
But Monday comes, and the 9 to 5’ers are there constantly putting David through the ringer.
Gone is Sunday. And everyone feels a bit blue. Monday,I wanted to stay with them and go to him equally; not a happy place.
In the end, I left. But Hannah is amazingly capable. She puts on her Wonder Woman belt and keeps things smoothly going.
She amazes me really. She has implemented many happy things. Everyday has a theme. (Video game night, movie night, baking night, board game night, etc.). And she plans and shops for the weekly meals. She is a gem at creativity and is very thrifty at stretching our dollars where we don’t even feel it.
When I’m away, I know they are in good hands; one less thing to worry about. Hannah is the 2.0 version of me; better in every way.
She puts on a happy front and eventually she even believes it. But when I come home, she lets her guard down, because I’m home and now it’s my turn to do that and her turn to be a daughter only.
We are still relishing in our happy Sunday, anticipating another one in more than a few days. But we look forward to all being together, despite the difficulties. We are swept away and can breath. (Mostly).
Is it Sunday yet?
XO
Shelli
Ps. David... it is so nice to see him happy on Sunday’s, despite his difficulties. Durning the week, his brow is a little more furrowed and his facial expressions say pain. But for one day a week, he puts on a good front, and I can breathe. Convincing myself that this happy moment lasts forever, until Monday.
